The short version is: I fixed the problem. The long version is: My new lighting rig came with a mounting rail, and the two screw-mounts that were supposed to arrive in opposite configurations instead arrived in the same configuration. While unscrewing one, I realized the metal of the screw was likely stronger than the metal of the rail.

Amusingly, not a macro. I put my 28-300mm on 300, moved to the minimum focusing distance, and did my best. The crop on this one was really fun . . . .

Another macro test, this time with a new lighting rig. I had a spare runestone laying around with an interestingly textured back.

I noticed some rice starch stuck on a flour sifter after washing it. I’d just gotten my new macro lens, so I decided to test it out.
